General Laborer - Structural Steel Manufacturing We are seeking a reliable General Laborer to join our structural and tubular steel manufacturing, team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on shop experience and the ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
Material Handling:
Load, unload, and move heavy steel materials, parts, and stock using forklifts, cranes, or by hand.
Fabrication Support:
Assist in cutting, drilling, grinding, punching, and shaping steel using various machines and hand tools.
Assembly & Preparation:
Position, align, and secure steel parts for welding or bolting, often by following blueprints and using measuring tools.
Maintenance & Cleanup:
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe; perform minor equipment maintenance and dispose of scrap.
Quality Control:
Help identify defective materials and ensure finished products meet specifications.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Physical strength and endurance (lifting, bending). Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math. Familiarity with hand/power tools (saws, grinders, torches). Forklift or overhead crane operation skills (or willingness to learn). Strong teamwork and communication skills. Understanding blueprints and safety protocols is often required.
Work Environment:
Fabrication shops, construction sites, steel yards. Involves heavy machinery, potential hazards, and requires adherence to strict safety measures
Requirements:
Forklift experience required Crane experience preferred Ability to lift heavy materials and work on your feet Strong work ethic and attention to safety
Schedule & Pay:
$20/hour
Shift:
