Position Overview The Warehouse Support role is responsible for ensuring that the warehouse and yard operate efficiently, safely, and in direct support of the field crews and retail/wholesale customers. This position plays a critical role in preparing materials, constructing panels and gates, maintaining equipment, and supporting the overall operational success of Acme Fence. The Warehouse Support team works closely with the General Manager, foremen, and installers to ensure that every job leaves the yard ready to be completed safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Yard & Warehouse Organization Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and warehouse environment. Conduct regular inspections of yard, warehouse, and storage areas for safety and housekeeping. Inventory Management Ensure adequate stock levels of fencing materials and supplies. Track and report material usage to support accurate inventory levels. Conduct inventory cycle counts and assist in identifying damaged, missing, or misallocated materials. Load and unload deliveries, ensuring accurate inventory intake Ensure materials are stored in designated areas for easy access and inventory tracking. Panel & Gate Construction Build fence panels and gates according to company standards and specifications. Ensure all fabricated panels and gates meet quality, durability, and safety requirements. Maintain and operate tools, saws, welders, and other fabrication equipment. Staging for Jobs & Retail/Wholesale Orders Accurately stage job materials for installation crews based on job sheets provided by the office. Double-check orders against job sheets to prevent shortages or delays in the field. Prepare and load retail and wholesale customer orders for pickup or delivery. Work with Operations Manager to ensure timely and accurate staging for the upcoming 3-week schedule. Fleet & Equipment Service Perform inspections of company trucks and trailers for cleanliness, safety, and readiness. Ensure routine preventative maintenance schedule is followed Assist in basic fleet maintenance (e.g., checking fluids, tires, lights, and securing loads). Coordinate with field teams, Operations Manager, and System Specialist to address mechanical issues or maintenance needs. Ensure trucks are properly staged with materials, tools, and equipment for the next day's jobs. Ensure we have critical spares for all tools and equipment. Candidate Requirements Experience in fence installation, warehouse/yard management, or construction preferred. Welding experience. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
