General Labor-Hatchery

OVERVIEW

:: Performing a variety of tasks to facilitate operation of the hatchery such as cleaning, loading/unloading, and assisting leads with assigned tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

:: Performing a variety of tasks to facilitate operation of the hatchery including but not limited to cleaning incubators, counting eggs/chicks, separating/culling chicks, assisting vaccinators, loading/unloading eggs, and keeping work areas clean/organized. Adheres to all safety requirements including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters. Maintains a clean and safe working environment. Participates in Company and department safety programs.

REQUIREMENTS

:: At least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to work with others in a close environment. Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality. Ability to work quickly and multitask.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

:: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, if applicable. Exposed to temperatures up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity up to 100%. Exposed to chemicals and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications. Use of personal protective equipment as required. Ability to lift 40 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, to push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet and lift 20 - 25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet. Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment. Must be able to use broom, shovel, mop and scrub brushes.
