Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Clerk to join our supply chain operations team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of logistics processes, ensuring seamless coordination between procurement, warehouse distribution, transportation, and customer order fulfillment. Your proactive approach will optimize inventory control, enhance process efficiencies, and support our commitment to delivering exceptional service. Duties Coordinate transportation planning and freight management using transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP platforms to ensure timely delivery of goods. Manage warehouse operations including inventory management, stock control, shipping & receiving, and materials handling to maximize efficiency. Oversee procurement activities such as sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing, and managing vendor relationships to secure cost-effective materials and services. Utilize data analysis skills with tools like SQL, Excel data analysis, and Tableau to monitor supply chain performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities. Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions or inefficiencies and implement process improvements to mitigate future issues. Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, warehouse teams, customer service, and logistics partners (including 3PL providers) to ensure smooth order fulfillment and demand planning. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards for import/export activities. Experience Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations role with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution, inventory management systems (such as Warehouse Management System or WMS), and transportation management systems (TMS). Demonstrated ability in vendor management, procurement processes, and category management to optimize sourcing strategies. Hands-on experience with freight forwarding (including NVOCC operations), shipping logistics, and international trade regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel data analysis skills including spreadsheets and pivot tables. Familiarity with ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms used for supply chain analytics and inventory control. Strong analysis skills with the ability to collect data, perform root cause analysis, and develop actionable insights for process improvement. Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (certification preferred) for manual handling tasks within warehouse environments. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across functions including customer service teams, suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
