Warehouse Worker Job Description This role focuses on safely and efficiently operating a variety of forklifts and material handling equipment in a large, temperature-controlled warehouse that stores beer, wine, soft drinks, spirits, and related products. You will move palletized loads, load and unload freight trucks and rail cars, and use RF scanning systems to maintain accurate inventory records in a fast-paced distribution environment. Responsibilities Operate double-wide forklifts, 2-stage, 3-stage, and 4-stage lifts, reach lifts, and potentially clamp lifts to move products throughout the warehouse. Load and unload freight trucks and rail cars containing beer, wine, soft drinks, spirits, and other beverage products in a safe and timely manner. Transport full palletized loads using primarily sit-down electric forklifts while following all safety and equipment guidelines. Use RF scanning systems and scannable barcodes on floors and placards to track inventory movement and ensure accurate stock records. Handle, store, and organize inventory in designated storage areas, including stockroom and production-related zones, to maintain an orderly warehouse. Perform order picking, packing, and palletizing tasks to prepare products for shipping and receiving operations. Operate pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, and reach trucks to support material handling and distribution activities. Assist with general warehouse duties such as staging, sorting, and replenishing inventory as needed to support daily operations. Follow all safety procedures and warehouse protocols to protect personnel, equipment, and inventory. Collaborate with team members and leads to meet productivity goals and maintain an efficient workflow across multiple warehouse locations. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience working in a distribution facility. Proven experience operating forklifts, preferably including double-wide forklifts. Experience loading and unloading rail cars in a warehouse or distribution environment. Proficiency operating sit-down electric forklifts for moving palletized loads. Ability to use RF scanners and work with scannable barcodes on floors and placards. Experience in material handling, storage, and inventory-related tasks. Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse setting. Capability to perform order picking, packing, and stockroom duties safely and accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating reach trucks and clamp lifts is highly beneficial. Familiarity with pallet jacks and other warehouse material handling equipment. Exposure to production or stockroom environments within logistics or distribution. Comfort working around large volumes of beverage products such as beer, wine, and soft drinks. Ability to adapt to working across multiple warehouse locations as needed. Strong attention to detail when scanning, labeling, and tracking inventory. Why Work Here?
