The Chester County Food Bank seeks to create a food secure Chester County. We mobilize and educate our community to ensure equitable access to nutritious and familiar food. Chester County Food Bank (CCFB) is a county-wide, non-profit organization located in Exton, PA and has been in existence since 2009. CCFB works with over 100 community partners to distribute over 6 million pounds of food annually to Chester County residents. Along with the help of dedicated volunteers, we provide healthy food access and educational opportunities through programs to engage the community in hands-on learning experiences.POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Sr Director, the Driver/Warehouse Associate is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Chester County Food Bank commercial vehicles, including box trucks and CDL-required straight trucks, to deliver food and related products to community partners throughout Chester County and the surrounding service area. This position serves as a professional ambassador of the Chester County Food Bank by providing reliable, courteous service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism. When delivery routes are complete, the Driver/Warehouse Associate supports warehouse operations by assembling customer orders, staging outbound deliveries, loading vehicles, and preparing the next day's routes. This is a full-time position with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, allowing employees to return home each evening while supporting the Food Bank's mission to serve our community.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Safely operate Chester County Food Bank commercial vehicles, including CDL-required straight trucks, in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations.
- Deliver food and supplies to partner agencies throughout Chester County accurately, safely, and on schedule.
- Perform scheduled pickups of donated food and purchased products from retail, commercial, and community partners.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete all required inspection reports and vehicle logs.
- Ensure all loads are safely secured and transported in compliance with DOT regulations and Chester County Food Bank safety standards.
- Represent the Chester County Food Bank professionally while interacting with partner agencies, donors, volunteers, and the public.
- Assemble agency orders using warehouse pick lists with a high degree of accuracy.
- Stage, wrap, and load outbound deliveries for the next business day.
- Assist with warehouse operations, inventory movement, and material handling during non-driving periods.
- Safely operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (training provided).
- Maintain assigned vehicles in clean, safe, and serviceable condition, and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Follow all Feeding America, food safety, warehouse safety, and DOT requirements.
- Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
