Perform a variety of material handling duties and responsibilities to ensure the consistent flow of materials throughout the donated goods and retail division. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in general warehouse operations by performing assigned duties in warehouse, post- consumer sorting of commodities, outlet rotation and tipping. Accurately completes paperwork including but not limited to: Truck manifest forms, powered industrial equipment inspections, SAP scanning. Maintains a clean and organized work area that is cleaned of dust, debris, loose clothing and any hazards during and at the end of each shift. Receives goods from the general public; to include, but not be limited to: Greets and assists donors by providing information; unloads donations; offers and provides receipts, determines what is acceptable according to criteria; rejects unusable items tactfully; as per training, provides tax information per guidelines; maintains excellent public relations at all times; sorts donations into proper containers and removes trash; completes all necessary paperwork such as daily donor logs, donor receipts, etc.; keeps donation site clear and clean at all times. Presents an appropriate appearance and good customer service to the general public and coworkers. Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Assures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to. Communicates progress, concerns and issues to Distribution Center Supervisor in a timely manner. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers preferred Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, order fulfillment, and inventory management practices
