Typing Full Job Description Location:
Bartlett, TN S easonal Position from October- December Please, no calls! General labor in performing the manual tasks in preparing cotton for classification. The material handler must haul, unload, load, stack, and tray material for conditioning purposes. Trays are carried to various destinations within the building. Must meet the minimum production level per week. Required to lift, push and pull carts, open and remove contents, and repack and tie samples. Place samples in plastic trays operate dollies, pallet jacks, vacuums, etc. Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions, understand computer-generated commands and respond accordingly using a keyboard. Must clean, sweep, operate a vacuum cleaner, and use simple hand tools such as brooms, mops, dust pans, etc. at the beginning and end of the shifts.
Work Environment:
Inside a temperature-controlled building with safe levels of exposure to cotton dust and lint. (Heavy dust and particles in the air) Safety equipment is supplied upon request for those who wish to utilize ear plugs, dust masks, or eye goggles.
Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Requires lifting, push and pull carts, prolonged standing, stooping, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting.
Wage rate:
$15.00 hourly plus health and welfare benefits of $4.80 per hour for a total pay rate of $19.80 per hour. The health & welfare benefits are not eligible for overtime hours only the $15 per hour. Bi-weekly pay periods
Shifts:
7:00 am - 4:30 pm 4:00 pm - 12:30 am
Benefits:
After a 15-day probation period, eligible to be paid for 3 holidays as they occur, and will accrue 3.33 hours of vacation per every 160 hours worked. There are no sick time benefits in this role.
