Job Description

Position Summary The Material handler is responsible for safely operating assigned equipment/materials to support copper production operations, including material movement, process support, housekeeping, and general plant or yard operations. This role requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental procedures. The Material handler works under direct or general supervision and is expected to communicate equipment/machine concerns, hazards, and production issues promptly. Essential Duties Responsible for the movement of materials through our production facility. This includes but is not limited to receiving and shipping, storing, storing, picking, loading/unloading equipment and other duties required to support production. This requires the use of all necessary equipment including but not limited to cranes, fork trucks, industrial carts and the manual loading/unloading of production machines. Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently in support of copper production operations. Move, load, unload, stage, transport, and store copper concentrate, raw materials, finished goods, scrap, packaging, and other supplies as directed. Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections and complete required checklists or logs. Monitor equipment condition during use and report defects, malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately. Follow all plant safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, traffic rules, and site-specific operating instructions. Support material handling activities, including stockpiling, replenishing, clearing work areas, and assisting with transfers between locations. Assist with loading trucks, containers, bins, hoppers, or conveyors as assigned. Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and routine preventive maintenance tasks when directed. Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in work areas. Communicate production, quality, and equipment issues to the supervisor promptly. Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior equipment operation or industrial material handling experience preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic mechanical aptitude and strong safety awareness. Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment.

Preferred:

Forklift certification or other equipment-specific certification. Experience in copper production, mineral processing, or heavy industrial operations. Familiarity with plant safety, quality, and environmental practices. Experience using radios, logs, or computerized dispatch/reporting systems. Shift-Based Schedule

• This is a shift-based position and may require work on days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts based on production demands. Candidates must be available to work assigned shifts and may be required to work overtime or extended hours when necessary to meet production schedules, maintenance windows, or operational needs. Shift assignments may vary depending on plant staffing requirements and business needs. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Safe operation of forklifts, loaders, yard equipment, or other assigned machinery. Ability to recognize unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, and material handling hazards. Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to work around conveyors, stockpiles, processing equipment, and active production areas. Ability to lift, stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work for extended periods. Reporting Structure The Equipment Operator will report to the Production Supervisor or Lead Operator, The role may also receive daily direction from a line lead or area lead while remaining accountable to the direct supervisor. Working Conditions Work may take place in plants, yards, warehouses, docks, or outdoor production areas. Exposure may include noise, dust, moving equipment, temperature changes, and industrial hazards. Shift work, overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on production needs. Personal protective equipment is required in designated areas. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and reach throughout the shift. Ability to operate controls, read gauges, and maintain focus on equipment and surroundings. Ability to lift and move materials up to the company's stated weight limit. Ability to work safely around mobile equipment, material handling systems, and process equipment. Ability to wear required PPE throughout the shift.

Pay:

$14.00 per hour
