POSITION SUMMARY

The KDR team is growing and are looking to add a general laborer. Our general laborer performs a variety of manual tasks including site preparation, material handling, supporting our shop employees in various tasks, cleaning. Key responsibilities include loading and unloading materials and cabinetry, operating light equipment, maintaining clean and safe work areas. The role requires physical strength and stamina, attention to safety, teamwork and the ability to follow instructions in diverse environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Site preparation: Cleaning, clearing and prepping jobs sites.

Material handling:

Loading, unloading and transporting materials, tools and equipment.

Physical tasks:

Assisting with construction of structures

Equipment Operation:

Using hand and power tools and operating machinery such as forklifts under supervision.

Worksite Maintenance:

Keeping tools and the work area clean and organized Assisting Skilled Workers

KEY SKILLS AND QUALITIES

Physical Stamina Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing, lifting, bending and working in various conditions. Stamina and endurance to perform their very physical job, laborers have to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours in various environmental conditions. Strength The lifting duties involved often require lifting and carrying weights in excess of 100 pounds Safety Awareness Adherence to all safety guidelines to prevent injuries on the job site. Teamwork Working effectively with a crew to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time. Communication Receiving and following instructions and communicating clearly with supervisors and team members. Problem-Solving Applying attention to detail to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
