Job Title:
General Laborer Job Description This role focuses on carefully wrapping and packaging painted parts and cabs to protect them during transport between a new assembly facility and various plants. You will help reduce damage and paint rework by applying protective packaging materials and supporting the development of new processes and standards. This position requires adaptability, strong work ethic, and openness to feedback as procedures are refined over time.Pay:
$21.23 - $28 an hour Responsibilities Wrap painted parts and cabs in appropriate packaging materials to protect them during transport between facilities. Handle, lift, and position parts consistently, including lifting up to 35 pounds, to prepare them for wrapping and packaging. Apply packaging standards and procedures to minimize damage and reduce paint rework and associated costs. Assist in creating, refining, and documenting packaging processes and standards as the new facility and workflows are established. Follow instructions and respond positively to feedback as processes are fine-tuned and improved. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while handling materials and packaging supplies. Support production, packing, and loading activities to ensure efficient flow of parts through the facility. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors using effective written and verbal skills. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production and transport schedules. Essential Skills Experience in general labor, manufacturing, production, or similar hands-on work environment. Ability to lift 35 pounds consistently throughout the shift while handling parts and packaging materials. Strong packaging and material handling skills, including wrapping and loading components safely and efficiently. Good written and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and collaborate with team members. Demonstrated history of good work performance with an excellent attendance record. Ability to work safely and follow established procedures in a manufacturing environment. Adaptability and openness to feedback and change as processes and standards evolve. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in packaging, loading, or shipping roles in a manufacturing setting is beneficial. Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities. Ability to contribute ideas for process improvements and standardization. Strong attention to detail to identify and prevent potential damage to painted parts and cabs. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a manufacturing and assembly environment at facilities located on Mayflower and American Drive, visible from a major highway. The role involves standing, lifting, and handling parts and packaging materials throughout the shift. Available schedules include first shift (4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday), second shift (2:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, Monday through Thursday), and weekend shift (5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday). The work environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, consistency, and teamwork while handling painted parts and ensuring they remain protected during transport. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manitowoc, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
