The Plant Team Member supports daily concrete manufacturing operations by preparing, assembling, and maintaining molds, forms, reinforcement, and materials used in production. This role performs a variety of hands-on plant and production tasks under the guidance of experienced team members to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. Responsibilities include assisting with production demands, staging materials, cleaning equipment, assembling forms, and supporting crews to meet daily manufacturing goals. This is an entry-level manufacturing opportunity with training provided for equipment, safety, and production processes.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Prepare, inspect, and stage concrete forms and molds before each production cycle. Read and follow basic production instructions, layouts, and shop drawings. Place and secure steel reinforcement, including rolled mesh, cages, and rebar using hand tools and fastening equipment. Install concrete accessories such as steps, knockouts, spacers, and inserts. Clean forms, molds, tools, and production areas following each production cycle. Stage materials and components to support continuous concrete production. Assemble and position form components according to production drawings and work instructions. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment after completing required training and certification. Apply concrete release agents to molds and production components. Assist with setting up, moving, and cleaning headers, pallets, and equipment prior to concrete pours. Operate overhead and jib cranes after completing required training. Work safely around automated production equipment and manufacturing machinery. Participate in quality inspections, safety meetings, and plant housekeeping activities. Perform additional production and plant support duties as assigned. An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Education & Preferred Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. 0-2 years of manufacturing, production, construction, or industrial experience preferred. Ability to exercise sound judgment while working around machinery and unloading materials. Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support changing production needs. Self-motivated with the ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing workloads. Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures. Willingness to learn new skills and cross-train on equipment and production processes.
Physical & Mental Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, and handling materials or equipment. Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, and lifting or moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to concentrate, follow detailed instructions, communicate effectively, and safely perform assigned job duties. May require operation of production equipment, material handling equipment, tools, or company vehicles associated with the position.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor manufacturing environments. Exposure to varying weather conditions, moving machinery, industrial equipment, noise, dust, vibration, and other manufacturing hazards. Standard full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. No travel required; overtime based on production needs.
