5:45am-6:00pm QPS Employment Group is hiring a Material Handler for a company in Sussex, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity. Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure continuous production operation of packaging lines and follow company's safety, quality and production procedures
  • Ensure all proper paperwork and materials are used, including pallets, slip sheets, WIP paperwork, and finished skid labeling paperwork is documented accordingly
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure that all incoming and outgoing products meet quality standards
  • Operate the forklift safely and efficiently and in accordance with plant forklift rules and regulations
  • Perform safety checks on the forklift; log and report any safety discrepancies with the Production Supervisor
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for all team members, and make the Production Supervisor or lead aware of any equipment or personnel safety issues immediately
  • Follow all aspects of the Lock Out Tag Out program
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Lean Initiatives as set forth by management
  • Ensure that all finished goods are properly labeled and staged for shipping
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed operator's log
Material Handler Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 6-12 months of sit-down forklift experience is a must
  • Production experience preferred
  • Proven problem-solving ability and good time management skills
  • Experience working both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic math and computer skills desirable
  • Able to stand or sit for an 8-hour (or more) shift
  • Able to handle frequent twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending
  • Good hand dexterity and eyesight for visual inspection of part
  • Must be able to drive a sit-down forklift and use a pallet jack
  • Able to lift up to 60 pounds
