$80,000 - $100,000 per year Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Environmental Utilities Supervisor to oversee industrial wastewater treatment and air emissions compliance at our manufacturing facility in Yukon, Oklahoma. This position is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the facility's wastewater treatment and air-emission control programs. The role will supervise and coordinate wastewater operators and environmental technicians, maintain environmental compliance records, support permit reporting, coordinate preventive maintenance, respond to operational issues, and communicate with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and other regulatory agencies as authorized by company management. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate industrial wastewater treatment operations, including collection, equalization, pH control, filtration, sludge handling, discharge, and sampling. Ensure wastewater operations remain within applicable permit requirements and certified-operator requirements. Maintain compliance with facility air permits and applicable emission-control requirements. Monitor and support air pollution control equipment, including scrubbers, thermal oxidizers, dust collectors, exhaust systems, solvent controls, and related monitoring equipment. Review wastewater and air-emissions operating data, laboratory results, permit limits, alarms, deviations, bypasses, and equipment downtime. Coordinate environmental sampling, laboratory testing, chain-of-custody documentation, inspections, calculations, reports, certifications, and regulatory recordkeeping. Maintain environmental compliance calendars and support permit applications and modifications when facility operations or emission sources change. Lead preventive maintenance and reliability planning for pumps, blowers, mixers, chemical feed systems, analyzers, meters, instrumentation, controls, and pollution-control equipment. Manage treatment chemicals, sludge and residual disposal, waste profiles, spill-prevention activities, and environmental contractor work. Support environmental inspections, audits, agency inquiries, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions. Supervise and coordinate Wastewater Operators and Environmental Technicians. Communicate with Oklahoma DEQ, laboratories, consultants, contractors, and other external parties as required. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment, environmental utilities, pollution control, or environmental compliance. At least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience. Working knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment processes, sampling, laboratory data, air-emission controls, permit limits, deviation reporting, and environmental recordkeeping. Ability to interpret environmental permits, operating data, laboratory results, and technical documentation. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to coordinate effectively with operations, maintenance, laboratories, consultants, management, and regulatory agencies. Current Oklahoma DEQ wastewater operator certification at the level required by the facility, or the ability to obtain the required certification before serving as the certified operator in responsible charge. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field. Manufacturing or industrial facility experience. Experience with Oklahoma DEQ wastewater and air permitting requirements. Experience with industrial wastewater permits, pretreatment requirements, air construction/operating permits, stormwater, hazardous waste, or electronic environmental compliance systems. Experience with pollution-control equipment and environmental utility systems. Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or other relevant environmental certification is a plus. Work Environment This is an on-site manufacturing facility position. Must be able to inspect wastewater treatment areas, utility yards, tanks, roofs, stacks, and production/process areas while using required PPE. Must be able to collect or oversee environmental samples. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation. Participation in on-call or upset-response support may be required. Compensation $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, and technical background.
