Job DescriptionOverview:

The waste champion is responsible for managing the full waste stream of material on a daily basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

Daily waste entryLead process improvements using Lean methodologiesPromote and facilitate a culture of high engagementManage projects to critical timelines and cost in order to meet critical to corporate objectivesIdentify gaps in waste reporting and collection processes and close the gapsPerform Raw and WIP Cycle CountsCount inventories, report needed adjustments, and determine why counts are offReport waste data to plant management teamWork with quality and production leaders to review Root Cause Analysis of waste issuesDrive actionable items out of the team to the production floorDevelop process improvement plan to reduce waste streamFollow all safety policies and procedures of the CompanyClerical duties as needed throughout the site, additional duties may be assigned by management

Qualifications:

Experience in manufacturing environments (corrugated industry preferred)Strong data analysis and reporting acumenProficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologiesExcellent teamwork and communication skillsThe ability to lead and inspire changeERP and waste tracking tool knowledge or Lean/Six Sigma Certification (preferred)

Education & Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GEDRelated college degree and/or appropriate technical courses or Associate's (A.A.) degree is preferredMinimum 3 years' experience in related fieldCorrugated experience is preferred
