Job Description
The Landfill Operator monitors the disposal of waste material at the landfill, maintains community collections sites, and supports community-based recycling and waste-reduction/clean up efforts. The Landfill Operator requires a Class B Commercial Drivers' License. Applicants without a CDL will be hired as a Landfill Worker and expected to obtain their CDL within 6 months. Qualifications Class B Commercial Drivers' License or ability/willingness to obtain within 6 months. Special Requirements Under the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), this position is subject to mandatory drug testing per title 49 CFR, Part 40. All applicants must meet FMCSA pre-employment requirements prior to being allowed to perform safety-sensitive functions or operate a covered City vehicle.
