1st Shift- (8:00am-5:00pm)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for performing cleaning and sanitation tasks to ensure Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP) are met.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and sanitize production equipment, machines, and work areas to establish a clean, sanitized, and safe working environment. General Sanitation Perform general cleaning throughout the facility including but not limited to air vents, light fixtures, restrooms, lunchrooms, offices, silos, exteriors, parking lot, floors, docks, walls, sidewalks, trash cans, break rooms, locker rooms, showers, laboratories, windows, countertops, refrigerators, microwaves, rail car loading area, drains, warehouse areas, pipes. and water dispensers. Perform general and specific cleaning of production equipment including but not limited to oil tanks, hoppers, dumpers, oil filtration systems, centrifuges, conveyors, fillers, scales, palletizers, metal detectors, cooling units, Verify 3rd shift cleaning by conducting pre-operational inspections and performing swab testing to meet and validate sanitation performance standards. Organize and prepare cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and chemical concentrations needed for sanitation. Ensure safe chemical storage and management of chemical accidents. Disassemble and reassemble equipment using the correct tools and following proper procedures to prevent equipment damage and to ensure the equipment is cleaned properly. Collaborate with other department staff to ensure that food safety and workplace cleanliness is being implemented. Respond to emergency clean ups. Spread herbicide throughout the yard and/or cut unwanted foliage. Replace Pesticide Controls (TinCats, Glue Traps, and UV lights) as needed. Monitor inventories of sanitation equipment and chemicals, and report low stock to the department supervisor. Adhere to all requirements to maintain a safe workplace including wearing the necessary protective equipment (PPE). Perform cleaning in confined spaces. Use a pallet jack or forklift to move supplies, pallets, and trash Categorize and clean pallets as needed Painting walls and floors as needed General Non-Sanitation Related Tasks Document, transfer, and reorganize products destined for rework. Dump rework into the melting tank. Assist operations as needed with labeling/re-labeling, and pallet movement. Education and Experience Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically: High School Diploma or
GED. 0-6
months combination of education and experience. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Self-motivated and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. Office and plant setting:
The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the plant.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
