Job Description

Supervisory Responsibility:
None Position Summary:
The Sanitization Technician position is the entry point into our lab team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within the processing lab to support high-quality production and compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. This role involves cleaning and disinfecting laboratory surfaces, equipment, tools, and production areas according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The Sanitation Technicain position is the intial starting point for Lab Tech positioning inside the FM Labs technician infrastructure. This position is as Sanitation Technician, you will be expected to be continually learning the ins and outs of lab and facility operations, as this position is the structured pipeline to backfilling the Lab Technician position. This position will be given the tools, information and mentoring necessary to accomplish this growth trajectory and in return, it is expected that this position focus, master the information & skills required and show up for our team and our products on time with 100% effort toward learning out facility every single day.
Essential Functions:
Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of lab equipment, surfaces, and production areas using approved sanitization agents. Accurately follow sanitization protocols to ensure compliance with lab safety and quality standards. Conduct deep cleaning projects both inside the facility and on the outside grounds. Perform minor maintenance tasks such as painting, organizing outdoor work areas, and basic facility upkeep. Maintain cleanliness logs and documentation of cleaning activities. Safely handle and mix cleaning chemicals according to SDS (Safety Data Sheet) guidelines. Clean and sanitize tools, glassware, and instruments used in the processing lab. Work closely with quality assurance and processing teams to minimize contamination risks. Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns. Dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with company and environmental regulations. Ensure all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is used properly and consistently. Support the overall upkeep and organization of the lab and surrounding work areas.

Job Specifications:
Ability to learn sanitation procedures, chemical safety, and GMP/GDP is an asset. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Comfortable working in controlled environments with controlled exposure to chemicals and sanitizing agents. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of the policies, procedures and goals of FM Labs and affiliates. Professional representation of FM Labs at all times. Ability to meet or exceed the company's attendance and punctuality standards. Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow directions as given. Ability to listen well and communicate effectively verbally and in writing with various audiences. Ability to use initiative and independent judgment appropriately. Skill in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of company philosophies and goals. General understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, safety regulations, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures. Must have strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
Additional Requirements:
Must pass any and all required background checks. Must have flexible availability. Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal, regulatory, or company-mandated requirements for working in the industry.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, some trade school preferred. 1+ years of previous extraction, distillation, laboratory environment and/or cleaning experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in a production lab and outside grounds in varying weather conditions. Use of PPE including gloves, masks, goggles, and lab coats required at all times. Regular exposure to cleaning agents, wet surfaces, and varying temperatures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions, as well as stooping, squatting, crawling, lifting, and carrying tools/equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift, carry and balance at least 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance). Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8-12 hours. Must be able to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment with temperature fluctuations (due to machinery).
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
