Recycling Equipment Operator (Lansing, MI) Granger Waste Services, Inc - 3.8 Lansing, MI Job Details Full-time 21 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Opportunities for advancement Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Why You'll Love Working Here Stable, full-time position with year-round work Opportunity to operate a variety of equipment in a fast-paced recycling operation Team-oriented culture focused on safety, service and reliability Established, values-driven organization with long-term career opportunities Meaningful work that helps protect the environment and support sustainable recycling efforts Variety in your day, combining equipment operation, material handling and facility support Work with a team dedicated to serving local communities and preserving valuable resources What You'll Get Competitive pay based on experience Up to 15% 401(k) contribution (no match required) Health, dental and vision insurance Paid time off plus paid holidays Stable, full-time employment with year-round work Overtime opportunities Career growth and advancement opportunities Safety-focused, team-oriented work environment Opportunity to develop equipment operation and recycling industry skills What You'll Do Safely operate forklifts to weigh, stack and move recyclable material bales Operate skid steers, loaders, balers and conveyor systems safely and efficiently Unload semi-trailers and move materials throughout the recycling facility Sort recyclable commodities and remove contamination from incoming materials Process cardboard, plastics, glass, aluminum, metals and other recyclable products Monitor material flow to ensure efficient processing and bale production Guide vehicles entering and exiting the facility while maintaining awareness of surroundings Move roll-off containers and assist with public recycling drop-off area operations Assist with dumping roll-off containers at the Disposal Center Support transfer station operations as needed Perform facility cleanup and general housekeeping duties Follow all company safety procedures and environmental regulations Stay actively engaged with team communications through company communication devices and headsets What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment preferred Prior forklift and skid steer experience preferred Experience in recycling, waste management, warehousing, manufacturing, construction or material processing preferred Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days required Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Work Schedule & Location Location:
Lansing, MI Regular schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. (30-minute lunch), Every other Saturday, 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Safety Sensitive Information This position is designated safety-sensitive. The associate will operate a vehicle or other equipment on behalf of Granger Waste Services as an essential function of their job and must comply with all applicable safety and drug and alcohol policies.
