• Job Title: General Production Worker
• Job Description
• This role supports engine assembly and warehousing operations in a fast-paced automotive production environment.

General Production Workers may work as Production Operators, focusing on assembly and disassembly of engines, or as Material Handlers, operating forklifts and related equipment to move and ship engines. You will contribute directly to efficient production, quality control, and on-time delivery of engines to a major automotive facility.

• Responsibilities
• + Perform assembly and disassembly of fully manufactured engines, following established procedures and safety guidelines.

+ Remove and reinstall engine components with care and accuracy to support production and testing processes.

+ Apply coolant to engines and components as required for proper operation and testing.

+ Conduct leak tests and visual inspections to verify product quality and identify defects or issues.

+ Work on an assembly line, maintaining consistent pace and productivity in a high-volume environment.

+ Handle general production and labor tasks, including heavy lifting, positioning parts, and using hand tools.

+ Operate forklifts, tugger vehicles, and cherry pickers to move engines and materials within the facility.

+ Transport engines and materials safely in a warehousing and shipping environment, ensuring proper placement and storage.

+ Support shipping and receiving activities, including staging, loading, and preparing engines for transport to the Lansing Delta Township facility.

+ Perform material handling duties, including inventory support, organizing stock, and maintaining accurate counts.

+ Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to equipment operating procedures.

+ Stand for the majority of the shift and perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on quality and safety.

+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues that impact workflow.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.

• Essential Skills
• + At least 2 years of experience working in a production or warehouse environment.

+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in machine operation and/or forklift/hi-lo operation.

+ Ability to operate forklifts, tuggers, and cherry pickers safely in a fast-paced setting.

+ Hands-on experience with assembly work, including use of hand tools and working on an assembly line.

+ Knowledge of basic inspection practices, including visual checks and leak testing.

+ Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.

+ Ability to stand for the majority of the shift and perform repetitive motions safely.

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Willingness to complete drug testing requirements.

+ Ownership of steel toe shoes or boots and willingness to wear them as required.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Experience in shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.

+ Familiarity with inventory processes and material handling best practices.

+ Comfort working with hand tools and basic mechanical tasks.

+ Experience working with automotive or engine components is a plus.

+ Ability to adapt to different stations and tasks within a production facility.

+ Reliable attendance and punctuality, including the ability to work assigned shifts.

+ Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and support smooth workflow.

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.
• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
