Overtime Eligible Starting Pay:
$22.79/hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Weekends as needed) Are you a skilled equipment operator with a CDL looking for a stable, full-time role with great benefits and variety in your workday? Join our team and help maintain the essential services that keep our city running smoothly!
Position Overview:
In your first two years, you'll work in the Environmental Services Division , performing recycling collection duties on the back of a recycling truck. During the winter season, on-call overtime is expected for snow and ice operations. After that, you'll rotate through other divisions such as Streets, Forestry, and Parks Maintenance , gaining experience with a wide range of equipment and public service tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Services Division:
Operate recycling and yard waste collection vehicles Safely load/unload containers and respond to curbside service issues Drive to material recovery or compost facilities
Streets Division:
Operate dump trucks, snow plows, salters, and other heavy equipment Perform street repairs, snow removal, drainage maintenance, and more
ForestryParks Maintenance:
Trim, plant, and remove trees Maintain parks, ball fields, and public spaces Perform building and equipment maintenance
All Divisions:
Conduct daily vehicle inspections Maintain communication with supervisors Respond to emergencies in all weather conditions
What You'll Need:
High school diploma or equivalent Valid Michigan CDL - Class A or B Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions Comfort working outdoors in all weather, including nights and weekends Strong teamwork, communication, and safety awareness
