Payrate:
$19/hr. contract
•This is considered to be an OUTDOOR position
•Primary Job Function & Duties Duties include basin and tank cleaning; pump breakdown and assembly, routine lubrication of rotating equipment, janitorial cleaning, painting and assisting plant mechanics and electronic technicians with projects and routine maintenance. In addition, the crew member moves and loads treatment chemicals and mows various sites on a weekly basis. Crew members use various medium size equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, blowers, high pressure washers, forklifts and skid-steers with back-hoe attachments. The person is required to perform small engine repair on mowers and weed eaters and should be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Work in this position requires the ability to walk, run, crawl, bend, stoop, climb, and push. A working home phone or cell phone must be maintained. This is very important support role to the day to day functions of the City's water/wastewater treatment facilities which are subject to North Carolina Division of Environment and Natural Resources regulations. Requirements High School Diploma or GED Valid NC Driver License in good standing Mechanical Experience with motors, diesel engines and small engine repair-preferred Must have legible handwriting and be able to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work independently much of the time after initial training program Will work independently and part of a team Must be familiar with breakdown and assembling equipment such as small pumps, motors, and mowing equipment Previous experience with assorted tasks like cleaning, painting, lubricating, and maintenance is a plus Must pass pre-employment criminal background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Physical aspects require bending, standing, stooping, kneeling and walking Work will be performed in inclement weather at times
