Job Description

Back Wastewater Utility Worker
  • 24773 Utility Worker Contract 11495 Sep 1, 2026 Farmington , New Mexico We are seeking a Wastewater Utility Worker for assignment in Farmington, New Mexico. The selected candidate will primarily receive and handle wastewater/septic effluent on an assigned shift. Hours are Monday
  • Friday, 7:30am
  • 4:30pm Responsibilities
  • Set up and unload wastewater, sludge or effluent from septic trucks
  • Check for obstructions, adjust valves to regulate flow, and monitor gauges and flow meters
  • Perform manual labor, including shoveling, raking and handling waste materials
  • Collect septic samples for analysis, process pH samples, record data, inspect samples for prohibited material and prepare reports for operators
  • Follow health and safety protocols, ensure proper disposal and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Assist with headworks operation and cleaning, including raking bar screens, checking pump operations and other station assignments
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Interact professionally with septic haulers, contractors and vendors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid Drivers License
