Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Sanitation Technician to join our team and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within our facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a hygienic environment by performing industrial cleaning tasks, handling chemical agents safely, and adhering to strict sanitation protocols. Your efforts will directly contribute to food safety, compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and overall operational excellence. This position offers an opportunity for individuals passionate about maintaining clean, safe, and compliant workspaces in a fast-paced manufacturing or food processing environment. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of production areas, equipment, and facilities using appropriate cleaning techniques and chemical agents. Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals safely according to established safety procedures and protocols. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and protective clothing to ensure safety during all cleaning activities. Follow GMP guidelines diligently to maintain cleanliness standards critical for food safety and manufacturing compliance. Conduct routine sanitation inspections to identify areas needing attention and document all cleaning activities accurately. Operate industrial cleaning equipment including scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuum systems efficiently. Assist in training team members on proper sanitation procedures, chemical handling safety, and respiratory protection measures. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a manufacturing, food production, or warehouse setting is preferable, but not required. Knowledge of cleaning techniques specific to industrial environments and familiarity with chemical handling safety procedures. Basic math skills for measuring chemicals and understanding safety data sheets (SDS). Experience with GMP standards, food safety protocols, and sanitation practices in a regulated environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for thorough cleaning routines. Strong adherence to safety protocols including proper use of PPE and respiratory protection equipment. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations.
