Purchasing Supervisor American Fan is seeking a candidate with strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills to manage customer orders and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery. This role requires collaboration with all areas of the business including project management, logistics, and suppliers, as well as sound judgment to address challenges and escalate issues when necessary. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Generate purchase orders and confirm supplier delivery dates to ensure on-time customer delivery. Enter and maintain accurate data in the MRP/ERP system per purchasing procedures. Communicate delivery, quality, and performance expectations clearly to suppliers. Follow up and expedite orders to meet customer deadlines. Coordinate with logistics to arrange shipments and close orders on time. Resolve purchase order, receipt, and invoice discrepancies (3-way match issues). Maintain reports on cost savings, delivery performance, quality, and inventory metrics. Communicate material issues affecting customer due dates with relevant teams. Participate in team meetings to discuss project and order status, addressing potential issues. Adhere to Quality Management System processes, including supplier approvals and NCR tracking. Uphold ethical behavior and comply with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Embody the FMD values of Velocity, Integrity and Teamwork Qualifications and Educational Requirements High School Diploma required. 1-3 years of experience in a purchasing role (3-5 years preferred). Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Ability to influence others and work well with all levels and functions of an organization. Energetic, proactive, and comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Strong administrative and recordkeeping skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel); experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
