WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE

Under the supervision of the Hand presser and Models and mold supervisor, this position supports the hand pressing department, in all areas of Terra cotta. A hand presser is responsible for efficiently making multiple pieces of terra cotta and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable amodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Hand presses clay into mold and turns mold over after hand pressing ispleted.

Verifies that clay has proper consistency and thickness and assures that t are no air pockets in the mold.

Assembles the mold

Smoothens out the finish and ensures that it dries properly

Lifts, carries and places pieces on rack so that pieces can be sent to dryers

Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth bypany and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, andor ability required.

High School diploma or equivalent

Requires an individual to be able to hand work clay with precise detail when pressing molds.

On the job training required to learn the essential duties listed above.

Ability to use hand tools, including but not limited to scrapers, hand towels, knives and sticks.

Requires basic reading and writing skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Basic math is required and able to read tape measurer.

Ability tomunicate in a professional manner in dealing with employees, customers and superiors.

Ability to act professionally and remain calm in high-stress situations

Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
