Cashier/Customer Service

Overview Join our dynamic retail team as a Cashier and Customer Service Associate, where you'll be the welcoming face of our store, ensuring every customer has a positive shopping experience. This role combines efficient cashiering with engaging customer interactions, helping to create a friendly and inviting environment. You'll handle transactions accurately, assist customers with their needs, and contribute to the overall success of our retail operation through excellent service and teamwork. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process sales quickly and accurately, handling cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision. Greet customers warmly, providing friendly assistance and answering questions about products or store policies. Conduct product demos when applicable, showcasing features to enhance customer understanding and encourage sales. Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are presented attractively. Manage stock levels by monitoring inventory and notifying supervisors of low stock or discrepancies. Upsell relevant products or services to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a helpful attitude. Maintain professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via other communication channels. Support supervising staff in training new team members or overseeing daily operations when needed. Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse customers and team members. Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a broader customer base. Experience in retail sales, grocery stores, or similar environments is highly desirable. Ability to perform basic math quickly for cash register operations and retail math calculations. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and patience in busy settings. Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices. Demonstrated phone etiquette for professional communication with customers and vendors. Supervising experience is advantageous for supporting team leadership duties.
