Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Summary:

Liquor Store Sales Associate We are looking for a reliable and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of the store, assisting customers in finding the perfect bottle for any occasion while maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting shop environment. The ideal candidate has a passion for spirits, wine, and beer, and possesses a sharp eye for detail—especially regarding age verification and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities Customer Engagement:

Greet customers and provide knowledgeable recommendations on spirits, wine, and craft beer based on their preferences and budget. Point of Sale (POS): Efficiently process transactions, handle cash/credit payments, and manage the register with accuracy.

Compliance & Safety:

Strictly adhere to state and local liquor laws by verifying identification for every age-restricted purchase to ensure no sales to minors or intoxicated individuals.

Inventory & Merchandising:

Unpack shipments, stock shelves, and organize displays. Ensure all products are correctly priced and that the "first-in, first-out" (FIFO) method is used for perishables like chilled wines or beers.

Store Upkeep:

Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, tasting stations, and storage areas to provide a premium shopping experience.

Loss Prevention:

Stay vigilant on the sales floor to minimize shoplifting and ensure high-value inventory is secured.

Qualifications Experience:

Previous retail or hospitality experience is preferred; knowledge of bourbon, scotch, or wine regions is a significant plus.

Skills:

Strong communication skills and basic math proficiency for handling transactions.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and lift cases of product (up to 40-50 lbs) regularly.

Availability:

Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Legal:
