Crane Truck Driver - Local (Driving & Process Production Position)

1/1/26 Salary Grade $25-$27 per hour starting pay depending on experience
Job Summary:
The local year-round Crane Truck Driver will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operates a tri axle truck with attached crane according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
  • Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer/crane into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.
  • Assists with loading and unloading of goods and materials, using attached crane; returns all equipment to designated area.
  • Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, receive payments from customers as needed and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
  • Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to Mechanic.
  • Arranges truck/trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.
  • Conduct all job responsibilities in a safe manner in alignment with federal, state, and company rules and restrictions.
  • Strip forms and prepare concrete forms for shipping, including sealing and patching.
  • Perform basic material handling, moving product with overhead cranes.
  • Assist in shop duties including forming, setting, moving, storing products.
  • Safely operate a commercial truck to transport goods to designated locations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling and secure placement on the truck.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and maintenance standards.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and cargo handling.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues.
  • Report any vehicle defects or damages immediately to management.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the truck.
  • Use of power tools as necessary.
  • General housekeeping.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • Ability to remain focused in busy environment.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are necessary. Required Education and Experience
  • Must hold required commercial driver's CDL Class B license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
  • Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
  • One year of commercial driving experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years Boom/Crane experience.
CDL Class A Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of loading/unloading cargo (strapping down material.
  • Active participation in the production process
  • Climbing, Loading and strapping down material to be moved.
  • Continuous movement in and out of the cab.
  • This is a working CDL Driver position
