Central Staffing Specialist
HENDRICK MEDICAL CENTER
MSN Central Staffing Office (12348) Full Time Day Shift Monday through FridayJOB SUMMARY
Will perform central staffing, day-to-day and shift-to-shift changes in the central staffing system in real time to ensure accuracy of daily staffing sheets, as well as ensure accurate productivity and various other reports. Collaborates with Nurse Managers, Nursing Supervisors, and/or charge nurses to assign staff based on equal distribution of resources, including unplanned events that lead to open shifts. Oversee immediate work area. Completes requested tasks and reports in a timely manner. Coordinates and provides on-the-job training for new employees in the work area, and provides appropriate feedback to supervisor. Trouble -shoots problems identified and strives to find solutions to ongoing problems. Initiates changes to guidelines to accommodate staffing requirements. Functions under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the assigned Centralized Staffing Supervisor and Nurse Manager. Central Staffing Specialist II has a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, improvement initiatives, data entry and continuing education.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education High School or equivalent. Minimum Work Experience No previous experience. Required Licenses/Certifications None required. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. Maintain professional appearance at all times. Requires ability to handle confidential information. Ability to collaborate with hospital personnel. Strong computer skills and ability to input data in computer programs.
