Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Certified AWS Welder and bring your expertise in advanced welding techniques to a fast-paced construction and fabrication environment. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welds on various metal components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. Your skills will directly contribute to the successful completion of complex projects, from structural steel to ductwork and piping systems. Duties Perform certified AWS welding using
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION
> welding processes on diverse materials including sheet metal, pipe, and structural steel. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute fabrication and assembly tasks. Utilize hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment to shape and prepare materials for welding and assembly. Conduct quality inspections with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure weld integrity and dimensional accuracy according to ASME codes & standards. Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely to move heavy materials or assemblies into position for welding or installation. Engage in construction site activities such as pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, mechanical assembly, and soldering while adhering to safety guidelines. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, schematics updates, and compliance documentation. Experience Proven construction site experience with a strong background in welding operations across industrial or manufacturing environments. Certified AWS welder with documented proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, and <LOCATION
> welding techniques. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math calculations for fabrication accuracy. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and machining tools. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding practices and fabrication quality assurance. Mechanical knowledge including pipe threading, rigging procedures, ductwork installation, and assembly processes. Ability to operate forklifts safely along with other construction equipment such as cranes or scaffolding when necessary.
