Independent Contractor•Fitness Trainer (Adaptive Fitness)
Location:
Concord, CA (In-Person) About Fit Machine At Fit Machine, we believe fitness should be accessible to everyone. We specialize in adaptive, one-on-one personal training for individuals with developmental delays, creating an inclusive environment where every client can succeed. Fit Machine was founded by a Certified Personal Trainer with 20+ years of experience and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with 15+ years working with neurodivergent individuals. Together, they built a model that blends evidence-based fitness with behavioral support to help clients build strength, confidence, and independence. Who We're Looking For We are seeking a certified, experienced, highly reliable, and committed independent contractor personal trainer who is passionate about inclusive fitness and making a real impact. What we're really looking for: A trainer with full weekday availability (Monday-Friday) to support consistent client schedules Someone who is dependable, punctual, and committed to showing up for their clients A professional who communicates well with clients, parents, and caregivers A trainer who is prepared, organized, and takes ownership of their schedule and clients Someone who is patient, adaptable, and genuinely enjoys working with individuals with developmental delaysSchedule & Availability Primary Need:
Consistent Monday-Friday availability within our core scheduling window of 8:00 AM•7:00PM Peak Client Hours:
2:00 PM•7:00PM Saturday Hours Available:
8:00 AM•1:00 PM Most clients attend 1-3 sessions per week on consistent schedules (ex: M/W/F or T/Th). Because of this, full weekday availability is strongly preferred to build stable, long-term schedules. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality 1:1 personal training sessions Create individualized, goal-oriented workout programs Adapt exercises and coaching strategies based on client needs Arrive ahead of time and fully prepared for each session You are modeling punctuality, time management, and preparedness for your clients Communicate professionally with clients, parents, and caregivers Use our scheduling and communication app to manage: Client sessions Session notes and progress tracking Communication Timecards for hours worked Submit timecards on time to ensure timely contractor payments Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment Collaborate with leadership (BCBA and training team) and seek support when needed Commitment & Reliability (Core Expectation) Our clients rely on consistency to make progress. We expect the same level of commitment from our trainers. Be dependable and consistent with scheduled sessions Maintain a stable schedule for your clients Keep cancellations and last-minute changes to a minimum Take ownership of your role and client relationships Requirements (Non-Negotiable) Active Personal Training Certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, ISSA, etc.) Minimum 2 years of personal training experience CPR/AED & First Aid Certified Experience working with individuals with developmental delays OR strong interest and willingness to learn Strong communication skills Reliable, punctual, and professional Compensation & Perks $35•$50 per hour (based on experience) Consistent client scheduling Ongoing support from leadership (BCBA + Director of Training) Opportunity to make a meaningful impact Independent Contractor Note This is a 1099 independent contractor position . Trainers are engaged as independent contractors and are responsible for managing their own taxes and submitting accurate time records for services provided.
