Overview The Limitless School, an NJ-approved APSSD, is seeking a Certified School Nurse. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care within a school setting, ensuring students receive prompt, professional health services. Your skills in emergency response, medical assessment, and health education will foster a safe and supportive environment for learners of all ages. Duties Conduct thorough health assessments and monitor student vital signs to identify health concerns promptly. Administer medications, injections, and IV insertions following strict protocols while maintaining accurate medical documentation. Manage emergency situations by providing immediate care for injuries or sudden illnesses, utilizing your experience in emergency medicine and trauma centers. Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs. Educate students on health topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention to promote lifelong wellness habits. Assist in managing infectious disease control protocols within the school environment to prevent outbreaks and ensure safety. Qualifications Valid certification as a School Nurse with active licensure; experience in Level II trauma centers or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Proven expertise in emergency room procedures, including patient assessment, anatomy knowledge, and physiology fundamentals. Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) certification. Experience working with diverse populations across inpatient, outpatient, clinic, or post-acute care settings—such as PICU, Geriatrics, or urgent care—is preferred. Strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems along with medical terminology proficiency for accurate documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times. Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to handle high-pressure situations confidently.
