Job Description

Description The Chemical Handler Gas Systems Technician provides all aspects of inventory handling services for chemicals for the company including hazardous waste. Works closely with operations and facility personnel to supply projects throughout the facility. The position also supports various activities associated with shipping and receiving. In addition, this role provides reliable support and services for the company and other site customers to ensure correct gas stocking levels and peak performance of equipment. The job requires the ability to work on assignments where judgment is required in resolving problems and/or making routine recommendations.
Chemical Handler Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for the safe loading of product onto different containers/drums and product securement. Maintains final product quality by performing quality control checks and inspecting for damage and checking for accuracy. Always maintains a safe working environment. Completes any other job duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
  • Verifies incoming shipments against the original order and inspects condition of the product.
  • Accepts deliveries, sorts, and distributes product to appropriate storage locations.
  • Submits reorder requests as needed.
  • Maintains chemical products in a safe manner.
  • Maintains records of all transactions.
  • Controls raw inventory balances in warehouses by adjusting reorder points, minimum stocking levels, and maximum stocking levels.
  • Discovers and implements cost savings ideas on a continuous basis.
  • Prepares hazardous waste for disposal or recycle.
  • Prepares reports required for waste disposal.
  • Receives product and records events in an automated record (NetSuite or MS Excel).
  • Observes all company, local, state, and federal safety, and quality regulations.
  • Fills, cleans, labels, and disposes of chemical products according to company policy and safety protocol.
  • Maintains records of all transactions within the shipping & receiving area.
  • Serves as warehouse human resource to physically move, stock, issue, and maintain control over all items in the warehouse.
  • Assists with broad range of warehouse tasks, utilizing forklifts, pallet movers, drum dollies and carts
  • Works closely with operations and facility personnel to supply projects throughout the facility.
Participates and supports the overall Shipping, Receiving, and Stores efforts within the department
Gas Systems Technician Responsibilities:
Monitor daily each gas cabinet for gas used; inspect gas cabinets for leaks and corrosion, alarms, and confirm that all cabinets are in working order. Repair and conduct preventive maintenance on gas cabinets, and gas cabinet controllers. Repair faulty regulators, controllers, pressure switches, transducers, valves, piping, Pneumatic hose, and fittings on gas delivery systems. Wire controllers to GEMS system. Wire controllers to command receivers, which send signal to notifier. Respond to all gas cabinet and gas sensor alarms. Replace faulty Gas Tech, Riken, and Scott gas sensors. Order company cylinder gasses. Receive and inspect cylinder deliveries. Track and send back empty cylinders. Order new gas mixes for new tools. Confirm that new cylinders have correct CGA fittings, are the correct size and confirm that cylinder has the correct amount of gas for the customers needs. Provide EHS with a monthly account of gasses used. Emissions information is then reported to the EPA. Active member of ERT (Emergency Response Team). Provide root cause analysis, corrective actions, and implementation plans for repetitive failures in an area or equipment and participate in long term improvement plans. Maintain a safe working area and follow all on-site safety procedures. Supplement and coordinate with tool design installation packages Investigate and determine facility requirements relating to semiconductor equipment relocations, realignment, transfer, and equipment de-installation/installation. Determine the cost-efficient utilization of available facilities for the operation of systems/equipment. Provide cost estimates and programming data in support of such moves. Competencies

  • Integrity Work Environment Work is completed both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
The use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials can be expected. Frequent interruptions, static noise, and alarms (auditory and flashing lights) can be expected. Occasionally work in the Fab (less than 20%), which a temperature-controlled cleanroom environment that requires the use of a full-body gown, over-boots, over-hood, safety glasses, and other PPE. The use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials can be expected. Frequent gowning and de-gowning are required. Frequent interruptions, static noise, and alarms (auditory and flashing lights) can be expected. Physical Demands Frequently walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, lifting. Constantly viewing a computer monitor for prolonged periods of time Frequently moving packages to various heights and positions Occasionally required to push and/or pull 50+ lbs. objects. Frequently lifting heavy objects up to 100 lbs. and occasionally carry that amount short and long distances and wearing safety gear. (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus), PAR (Pure Air Respirator) including a full body gown, face mask, and gloves Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distant vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe and area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus). Requirements Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent. At least 3-5 years working knowledge of chemicals used in the semiconductor industry. Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Possesses strength, stamina, good eyesight, and the ability to work at repetitive tasks, sometimes under pressure.
  • Ability to lift approximately up to 100 pounds without assistance.
  • Required to move packages to various heights and positions. Preferred Education and Experience DOT Hazardous Materials training a plus Experience working with forklifts
  • 10 years working knowledge of site gas services within the semiconductor environment.
