Chief Engineer Holiday Inn Express Tampa - Brandon by IHG Brandon, FL Job Details $17 - $19 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Maintenance High school diploma or GED Team development Electrical systems Staff development Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our facility maintenance operations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and functionality of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and more. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and proven experience managing maintenance teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a key member of our operations team, the Chief Engineer ensures all building systems operate efficiently, comply with safety standards, and meet brand expectations.
Compensation:
$17 - $19 hourly
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary liaison with brand partners to ensure compliance with evolving brand standards. Create and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Lead and manage all aspects of the maintenance department, ensuring consistent quality, safety, and operational excellence. Coordinate and supervise maintenance projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Inspect and evaluate building systems to identify required maintenance, repairs, or system upgrades.
Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance software systems. Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance experience. High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems. Strong leadership skills with experience in staff development, evaluations, and scheduling.
