Exempt Job Goal To improve student attendance, engagement, and academic success by identifying and supporting students who are chronically absent or at risk of disengagement through data-driven interventions, family engagement, academic support, and coordinated JCPC programming. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor and analyze daily attendance and student data to identify students at risk of chronic absenteeism. Maintain accurate attendance, intervention, and program records in accordance with district and JCPC requirements. Ensure all H.Y.D.E. Kids program participants are fully enrolled in 4-H Online. Prepare weekly individual student status reports and monthly attendance and JCPC program reports. Develop and implement individualized attendance improvement plans and action plans for referred students. Conduct outreach to students and families through phone calls, conferences, and home visits to address barriers to attendance. Provide tutoring, remediation, and structured instructional lessons for at-risk students during the school day. Implement tiered attendance and engagement interventions aligned with MTSS and student support frameworks. Facilitate mentoring, check-ins, restorative practices, and accountability agreements to reengage students. Coordinate services with teachers, counselors, social workers, nurses, administrators, and community agencies (including Hyde County 4-H). Participate in MTSS meetings, student support team meetings, case conferences, and required JCPC trainings and council meetings. Schedule and conduct conferences with school administrators and parents or guardians. Coordinate and maintain partnerships with local, district, and state organizations, including Hyde County 4-H and Hyde County Cooperative Extension through HYDE Kids Club, Restitution, and Community Service. Attend local, district, and state 4-H events, including occasional overnight events. Support school-wide attendance initiatives, prevention activities, and positive attendance messaging. Report all program updates, revisions, and student progress to the JCPC Program Manager and school leadership. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services/Principal. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of attendance laws, intervention strategies, and student support systems. Ability to analyze student data and use student information systems. Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with students, families, school staff, elected officials, and community partners. Skill in problem-solving, case management, and coordinating resources. Cultural responsiveness and ability to work with diverse populations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with flexibility and professionalism. Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and attention to detail. Minimum Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field. Experience working with youth, families, or community-based programs. Basic computer literacy. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for home visits and meetings. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in education, social work, counseling, or a related field. Experience in school-based intervention, case management, or attendance support roles. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or other languages prevalent in the community. Training in MTSS, trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, or motivational interviewing. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to lift up to forty pounds. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. School-based work environment with frequent interaction with students and families. Evening, weekend, summer, and overnight work required. Home visits are required as part of the assigned duties. Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Hyde County Schools policies and procedures, based on effectiveness in reducing chronic absenteeism, quality of documentation and reporting, program implementation, and collaboration with school and community partners.
