Step into a working clinical leadership role where your expertise in MDS coordination drives quality outcomes and reimbursement success—your top priority from day one! This RN position also leads infection prevention and clinical education, with required Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training (or obtained within 30 days). Position Summary Nye Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to step into a dynamic, working clinical leadership role that blends MDS coordination, infection prevention, and clinical education. This position is ideal for a self-starter who leads from the front, thrives in a fast-paced long-term care environment, and is passionate about driving quality outcomes. This is a multifunctional role, with a strong initial focus on MDS coordination and accuracy while also providing leadership in infection prevention and staff development. Key Responsibilities MDS Coordination Lead and oversee the MDS process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance Optimize reimbursement and case mix index (CMI) through precise documentation and coordination Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate resident assessments and care planning Monitor and maintain compliance with CMS guidelines and survey readiness standards Infection Prevention Serve as the campus Infection Preventionist, leading infection control practices and protocols Track, trend, and report infection data; implement improvement strategies as needed Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local infection control regulations Complete Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training (CDC-based) or obtain within the first 30 days of employment Clinical Education Develop and deliver clinical training and education programs for nursing staff Support onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing staff development Partner with leadership to identify and address knowledge gaps Promote a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence Clinical Leadership (ADON-Level Support) Act as a hands-on clinical leader, supporting nursing operations and stepping in where needed Assist with survey preparedness, audits, and quality initiatives Participate in Manager-on-Duty (MOD) rotation and On-Call rotation Collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team What We're Looking For Experience Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required MDS and long-term care experience is required Experience in infection prevention and/or clinical education preferred Prior leadership or charge nurse experience a plus Core Competencies Strong understanding of MDS processes, reimbursement, and regulatory requirements Knowledge of CMS guidelines, surveys, and infection control standards Ability to lead, teach, and influence across teams Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to jump in and support the team Why Join Our Team?
