Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract An Independent Retail Pharmacist position is available to support community-focused pharmaceutical services at a hospital-based pharmacy. This role requires a licensed pharmacist dedicated to delivering personalized, patient-centered care to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. Reporting directly to the Chief Clinical Officer, you will oversee all aspects of retail pharmaceutical operations including procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications.
Schedule & Location:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Contract role lasting 13 weeks Located in
McArthur, CA Key Responsibilities:
Compound, dispense, and review prescribed medications to ensure accuracy and safety Counsel patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage upon request Oversee pharmacy staff including interns and technicians while maintaining legal staffing ratios Maintain strict quality assurance, controlled substance security, and hazardous waste protocols Manage pharmacy records, billing systems, inventory, and resolve third-party formulary issues Develop strong relationships with healthcare providers and patients to enhance community trust Pursue continuous professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy laws and practices Handle difficult customer situations with professionalism and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
Licensed pharmacist in the State of California Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.

D. from an accredited college Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Compliance with current federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate across departments Strong organizational skills with experience using Microsoft Office applications This role offers a unique opportunity to practice in an independent pharmacy setting, delivering personalized care and making a positive impact on the local community.
