Job Description
Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist role involves providing comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services within a hospital setting, ensuring compliance with all applicable State and Federal regulations. The position starts on June 1st and spans 13 weeks. The schedule consists of varied shifts, offering either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts weekly, including some weekend coverage.
Responsibilities:
Oversee procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications for inpatient care. Review inpatient medication orders for safety, accuracy, and appropriateness. Verify patients' home medications prior to hospitalization. Maintain pharmacy inventory including specialty kits and crash carts. Ensure pharmacy services meet regulatory compliance and accreditation standards. Provide drug information and support to healthcare professionals. Manage pharmacy licensure, security of controlled substances, disposal of hazardous drugs, and recordkeeping. Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, recommending improvements to pharmaceutical policies and procedures. Provide weekend retail pharmacy coverage for emergency medication dispensing. Serve as the on-call pharmacist during assigned shifts. Qualifications /Desired Experience:
Recent inpatient pharmacy experience within the past 3 years is required. Proficiency with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
