Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity involves practicing as a clinical pharmacist in a well-established 200+ bed community hospital. The role supports patient care with order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, and consulting with healthcare providers including physicians and nurses. Additional duties include managing pharmacokinetics and utilizing healthcare IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis.
Schedule and Location:
Located near Alexandria, LA 13-week contract position Four 10-hour shifts per week Rotating schedules may include 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM Every other weekend rotation required Qualifications /
Desired Experience:
Current pharmacist license in good standing BLS certification through the American Heart Association Experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems is preferred Strong ability to verify orders accurately and efficiently Proven skills in supervising pharmacy technicians Excellent communication skills to consult with nurses and physicians effectively
Responsibilities:
Verify and process prescription orders ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations Supervise pharmacy technicians in daily pharmacy operations Consult with nurses and physicians for optimal medication management Apply pharmacokinetic principles to adjust medication regimens appropriately Maintain thorough documentation within the hospital's electronic health record (EPIC) system
