Job Description
Virginia Retina Center (VRC) is seeking a full time (40 hours per week) Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC). This is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to ground-breaking clinical research for the treatment of retinal diseases. As a CRC, you will work with our Research Department and contribute to the lifecycle of all VRC clinical trials from feasibility assessment to End of Study closeout procedures.
This will involve the following:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory documents to the study sponsor and IRB, as required by the protocol and regulatory requirements.
- Review patient charts for study inclusion/exclusion criteria to identify prospective study subjects
- Educate patients about trial participation opportunities and manage informed consent process.
- Perform and or coordinate outreach activities, as appropriate to meet research recruitment and enrollment goals.
- Coordinate and manage daily activities of the study and ensure that study activities follow established protocol, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and use approved forms, templates and practices.
- Schedule and coordinate outpatient study visits to include diagnostic imaging, blood draws, medical tests and ocular exams according to study protocol. Assist researchers with the collection and analysis of research data and samples.
- Enter study visit data into electronic data capture (EDC) system
- Schedule and participate in monitoring and auditing activities and coordinate responses to audits.
- Provide continuing education to physicians and staff about ongoing studies.
- Complete and submit all required documentation for Adverse Events Please note this is an in-office position.
Critical skills:
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of medical staff, patients and visitors Demonstrated computer skills to include word processing, database management, and spreadsheet applications. Organization skills a mustEducation:
Bachelor's degree ACRP ( Association of Clinical Research Professionals) CCRC certification a plus.Job Type:
