Job Title:
CNC Mill Turn Machinist Job Description This role focuses on setting up and operating a CNC Mill Turn machine in a precision machining and contract manufacturing environment. You will work with a state-of-the-art DMG Mori CNC lathe with milling capabilities, collaborate closely with programmers and engineers, and follow established processes to deliver high-quality machined components on time. Responsibilities Set up and operate a CNC Mill Turn (DMG Mori) machine to produce precision components. Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and detailed work instructions to ensure accurate machining. Verify correct tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters before and during production runs. Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency. Collaborate closely with programmers and engineers to optimize programs, processes, and setups. Follow established processes and procedures to align with standards used across multiple locations. Prioritize and complete high-priority work to meet critical deadlines and customer requirements. Inspect parts during and after machining to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to a safe, efficient shop environment. Essential Skills Hands-on CNC lathe set up experience. Ability to set up and operate CNC equipment, including loading programs and configuring tooling. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and work instructions. Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize work to meet strict deadlines. Process-oriented mindset with a willingness to follow and adapt to established procedures. Comfort working with CNC control systems such as Fanuc and Haas. Solid understanding of general machining practices, including milling and turning operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC Mill Turn machines is a strong plus. Experience working with DMG Mori equipment is beneficial. Experience in precision machining or contract manufacturing environments. Familiarity with quality control practices and inspection techniques. Ability to collaborate effectively with programmers, engineers, and fellow machinists. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a clean machining facility equipped with more than ten CNC machines, with additional machines currently being built. The shop is relatively new to its location and continues to expand, including the addition of a clean room and a dedicated quality control area. The environment encourages collaboration among a small team of day-shift programmers and machinists, fostering open communication and shared problem-solving. The facility operates on a day shift, and you can expect to work with modern CNC technologies, including DMG Mori, Fanuc, and Haas controls, in a professional, well-organized setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofTUALATIN, OR.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
