Job Description The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to manufacture precision components for hydraulic attachments used in heavy equipment. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, programming CNC equipment, and ensuring parts meet exact specifications and quality standards. You will work with a variety of materials, including high-strength steels and alloys, and collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to optimize production efficiency. Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement are essential for success in this position.

  • 2:00 p.m.), 2nd (2:00 p.m.
  • 10:00 p.m.) or 3rd (10:00 p.m.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Edit programs, setup and run all CNC and Manual Mills and Lathes Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining problems Perform machine maintenance as needed Organize and keep clean work area and machine throughout shift Perform production work as required and assigned by Supervisor (Manual turning & milling, etc.) Minimum of 2-year Tech school Associate's degree/Technical Diploma Ability in reading and interpreting blueprints, inspecting parts with calipers, bore gages, micrometers, etc. required Must know G & M codes and must be skilled in shop math Must have experience setting up, and operating large milling centers Ability to perform close tolerance work Knowledge of 5 Axis Machining helpful, but not necessary Strong problem-solving skills Possess a proactive, positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability and responsibility Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
