Job Description

Job Description CNC Machinists are responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC lathe machines to produce complex aerospace components with precision and efficiency. Depending on experience and skill level, machinists may work under direct supervision or operate independently, demonstrating increasing levels of technical expertise and leadership. Core responsibilities include loading and unloading parts, performing in-process inspections using hand and advanced measuring tools, and completing documentation to ensure quality standards are met. Machinists set up fixtures, cutting tools, and CNC programs, adjusting offsets as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy. They perform deburring operations, basic and advanced preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot machining processes to optimize performance. Experienced machinists are proficient in using inspection tools such as height gauges, air gauges, and bench inspection equipment. At the highest level, they are capable of setting up and running all site-specific CNC and conventional machines, designing and manufacturing complex tooling, and mentoring junior machinists while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Duties & Responsibilities Operate CNC machine equipment to meet production rate and quality standards. Load and unload materials and parts from machines. Perform routine machine upkeep, including chip removal, surface cleaning, and maintaining coolant, oil, and lube levels. Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, and other gauges (tool variety may expand depending on experience). Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions. Monitor machine and cutting conditions, reporting issues to shift lead or supervisor. Deburr and edge-break parts as needed. Set up machines by loading fixtures, tools, and programs, and adjusting offsets (depending on experience). Operate multiple machines and apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques (depending on experience). Perform basic CNC program operations; understanding and editing G Code (e.g., feed/speed adjustments, adding passes) may be required depending on experience . Design and set up complex tooling and part layouts (depending on experience). Train and mentor other machinists (depending on experience). Follow all safety policies (PPE, machine operation, LOTO), quality standards, and 6S organizational practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience & Qualifications 1 to 6+ years of CNC lathe experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Solid understanding of shop math. Familiarity with computer functions and ERP systems. Ability to read and write in English, including interpreting blueprints and technical documents. Strong oral and written communication skills. Effective problem-solving abilities. 2nd Shift Friday-Sunday 5:00PM-5:30AM All shifts starting after 12:00pm will receive an additional $1.00/hour. For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $24.00 to $36.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan. This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency. The U.S. export control regulations define a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.
