Job Description

Urban Manufacturing (est. 1978) is an industry leader in precision CNC contract machining and is still proudly family-owned and operated. Our growth is built on a simple foundation: dedication to our employees. We strive to invest in our team, ensure everyone feels valued, and provide a genuine work-life balance. We are seeking a meticulous Quality Control Technician to join our team. In this role, you will verify that machined parts meet exact specifications and tolerances, serving as the final authority on quality before products reach our customers. This position is Mon - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm. Key Responsibilities Perform first-piece inspections to verify setup, in-process checks to monitor production stability, and final inspections using gauges, calipers, micrometers, CMMs, oscilloscopes, and vision systems. Use precision instruments and CMM equipment to measure dimensions against complex blueprints and test incoming raw materials. Proactively identify and resolve defects to prevent waste and ensure no non-conforming products leave the shop. Interact with source inspectors and team members to maintain high technical standards. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong capability to interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Experience with manual and automated inspection equipment (CMM experience is highly desired but not required). A solid understanding of CNC machining processes, materials, and tooling. Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong written and oral communication skills. High school diploma or GED required. Technical training or certifications are preferred. 2+ years in CNC manufacturing or QC roles is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude. Why Join the Urban Team? We believe in taking care of the people who take care of our customers.
Our benefits include:
Affordable health, vision, dental, and life insurance. A generous 401(k) match to help you plan for the future. Paid holidays and vacations to ensure you have time to recharge.
