Job Title:
CNC Supervisor Job Description The CNC Supervisor oversees and actively participates in CNC operations, programming, and scheduling within a high-end job shop environment. This role ensures that machining processes run efficiently, production schedules stay on track, and quality standards remain consistently high. Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day CNC machining operations in a high-end job shop environment. Participate hands-on in CNC setup, operation, and programming to support production needs. Plan and schedule CNC work to meet production deadlines and customer requirements. Coordinate workloads across multiple CNC machines, including 2-5 axis equipment, horizontals, vertical turning lathes, and pallet-changing systems. Monitor production quality and make adjustments to programs and setups to maintain precision and consistency. Use GibbsCAM or similar programming tools to create, modify, and optimize CNC programs. Support fabrication activities and ensure that all machining processes follow established procedures and specifications. Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with team members to resolve problems quickly. Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery. Essential Skills Proven experience supervising CNC operations in a job shop or similar machining environment. Hands-on CNC machining experience, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Strong CNC programming skills, including experience with GibbsCAM or comparable CAM software. Knowledge of working with 2-5 axis CNC machines, horizontal machines, vertical turning lathes (VTL), and pallet-changing systems. Ability to plan and schedule CNC work to meet production and customer deadlines. Solid understanding of fabrication processes and machining best practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output. Effective communication and leadership skills to guide and support shop personnel. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a high-end job shop environment. Familiarity with machining for medical device full builds. Experience working on government contract-related machining projects. Comfort working with advanced CNC equipment such as DMG machines and multi-axis systems. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support multiple projects simultaneously. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a very clean and well-maintained job shop environment focused primarily on medical device full builds and government contracts. You will work with a range of high-end CNC machines, including 2-5 axis equipment, DMG machines, four horizontal machines, five vertical turning lathes (VTL), and advanced pallet-changing systems. The position follows a first-shift schedule with a 4x10 workweek, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime work routine in a professional, technology-driven shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Brea, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
