The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This leadership role requires a strong understanding of machining tools, CNC machining processes, and precision measurement techniques to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency. - Lead will also guide and mentor team members, ensuring best practices are followed throughout all machining activities.
This is a part-time weekend position with flexible work hours. Duties Lead the setup and operation of CNC machines for metal machining processes, ensuring efficient production workflows. Program CNC machines using industry-standard software to meet detailed specifications and tolerances. Utilize machining tools effectively to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Perform precise measurements using appropriate tools and techniques to verify part dimensions and ensure adherence to quality standards. Monitor machine performance during operations, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal functionality. Supervise and mentor junior machinists, providing guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and technical skills. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize machining processes and improve product quality. Document machining activities, inspections, and any deviations from specifications for quality control purposes. Skills Extensive experience with CNC machining operations and programming. Proficiency in using machining tools for metalworking applications. Strong knowledge of precision measurement techniques and tools such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Ability to set up complex machinery efficiently and accurately. Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and mentor team members effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues promptly. Knowledge of safety standards related to manufacturing environments. Attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality components within tight tolerances.
