Job Title:
CNC Swiss Setup Machinist Job Description Join a precision-focused manufacturing team as a CNC Swiss Setup Machinist, where you will set up and operate Citizen Swiss machines, edit programs using leading CAM software, and oversee the full machining process from setup through in-process inspection. You will work from detailed blueprints to produce high-quality machined parts, maintain tight quality standards, and support continuous improvement by monitoring and communicating machine performance. Responsibilities Set up Citizen L20, L220, M32, and K16 CNC Swiss machines quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Handle the full machining process, including machine operation, setups, tooling changes, program editing, program loading, and troubleshooting. Make program edits using GibbsCAM and ESPRIT software to optimize machining operations and ensure part accuracy. Work from various detailed blueprints and drawings to produce precision machined parts to specification. Maintain quality standards through thorough in-process inspection of parts and continuous monitoring of machining processes. Use G and M code fluently to adjust, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs as needed. Monitor and document operational and performance issues for machines and processes. Provide clear feedback on process and performance issues to the supervisor to support improvements and problem resolution. Apply strong shop math skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters. Use measuring tools and inspection equipment to verify part dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications. Essential Skills At least 5 years of CNC Swiss setup experience. Hands-on experience setting up Citizen L20, L220, M32, and K16 machines. Proficiency in CAD software for reading and working with part models and drawings. Ability to make program edits using GibbsCAM and ESPRIT software. Fluency in G and M code with the ability to read, interpret, and edit CNC programs. High level of blueprint reading ability, including complex and detailed drawings. Strong experience in CNC Swiss machining and turning center operations. Experience working in a machine shop environment with lathe and tool and die processes. Solid mathematics skills with experience in shop math for machining applications. Proficient use of measuring tools for inspection and verification of machined parts. Knowledge of numerical control principles and CNC machine operation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience machining precision parts in a production environment. Experience in medical or high-precision manufacturing is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Ability to troubleshoot machining and program issues independently. Effective communication skills to document issues and provide feedback to supervisors. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple setups and maintain efficient workflow. Why Work Here?
