This position will be part of the Enterprise Services team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners. We are seeking a skilled Network Analyst to join our team, responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining our Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) infrastructure. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation of MNIT and customer infrastructures connecting to MNet wide area network services. You will independently manage tasks related to problem service restoration, network design, documentation, and configuration efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to a dynamic network environment and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our network services.
  • This position requires an employee to be onsite at 7525 4th Avenue, Lino Lakes, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.

  • :•Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience performing network design, automation, and management.
Experience must include:
+ TCP/IP network protocols, functions, and operations, with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting router/switch networks, particularly Cisco and Meraki products. + Analyzing and diagnosing network problems using network test equipment such as Sniffers and protocol analyzers. + WAN/LAN/WLAN protocols and software, along with
WAN/LAN/WLAN
troubleshooting processes. + Network performance monitoring systems and managing network equipment, including routers, gateways, and switches. + Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding. + Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences. Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master's degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor's degree for one (1) year; and an associate's degree for six (6) months.
  • This position requires a driver's license for travel to between agency and field locations.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • + Understanding of network operations and performance monitoring systems. + Experience with data communication protocols and network equipment.
  • Strongly Preferred Qualifications
  • + Experience in TCP/IP and BGP routing, switching, and WiFi networks, with the ability to implement and troubleshoot complex network configurations. + Experience with network management systems such as Cisco Catalyst Center and other SNMP-based systems.
  • Physical Requirements
  • + Requires moving/lifting up to 50 pounds, ascending ladders, performing duties within slim, confined and/or restrictive spaces.
