Commercial Front End Driver/Rear End Driver/Roll Off Driver

A commercial truck driver is responsible for collecting waste and recyclables from commercial and residential locations. The driver will be required to safely operate a waste collection vehicle, in Oxford, Franklin, and Androscoggin counties. Responsibilities Operates vehicle in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws. Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report). Notifies Dispatch of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process. Plan routes and use GPS. Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Report defects, accidents or violations. Skills Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc) Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) Valid truck driving license
